The Challenge
The challenge was to develop a cost-effective solution for shipping products that are long but lightweight. Parts that are too long to fit into standard-sized bulk bins but too light to justify a heavy-duty steel shipping rack. There are countless automotive and industrial parts that are too long for standard-size bulk bins. Examples include running boards, roof rack rails, fuel lines, side air curtains, tubing, large component parts, industrial materials, raw materials, and commercial supplies.

developed was a family of unique custom container sizes. By utilizing multiple best-in-class fabrication processes, RPP achieves numerous extended length and extended height offerings. Custom sizes range from 78 up to 140” in length and heights from 25” - up. Which custom fabrication process is utilized depends upon the desired finished length.
Custom Fabrication Process
The custom fabrication process utilizes steel reinforcements to join two full bins. Bins are mechanically attached at three fixed points; feet, base, and top of the sidewall. Standard size options are 80x48, 90x48, 114x48, 128x48, and 140x48. Bins are collapsible and are available in multiple drop door configurations.
Hot Plate Welding Process
The hot plate welding process is used to create unique non-standard lengths and heights. Cut & welded bins often include steel reinforcement. Bins are also collapsible and available in multiple drop door configurations.
